Daily Skin Care!

My daily skin care routine has changed so much over the years, and it wasn't until recently that I have been discovering products that suit my skin and make my face look the best it ever has! It can take years for someone to find the correct products that are right for you, here is my daily skin routine and hopefully this will help you gain an idea of what yours should be like and learn some tips along the way! ...
(L-R: Neutrogena Visibly Clear Daily Scrub, Soap & Glory "scrub your nose in it scrub and clay mask, Aqueous Cream, Bourjois Eye make-up remover, No7 Gentle Foaming Cleanser)

The Morning

1. I start the day by cleansing my face using No7 Gentle Foaming Cleanser, this is a soft, fluffy foam that is so gentle on the skin and leaves me with revived, clean skin.
* Tip! Cleanse your face twice using your facial cleanser, the first cleanse (superficial cleanse) will remove makeup and dirt that may have built up during the day, and the second cleanse (deep cleanse) will actually cleanse and remove dirt from your skin and pores. Spend a little longer on the second cleanse to leave your skin beautifully refreshed!

2. Although they are called "daily scrubs/exfoliators", you don't need to exfoliate your skin everyday. You can if you would prefer, as these will be gentle enough to use everyday and your skin won't become damaged from overuse. I only use a facial srub when my skin feels a little flaky or looks a little dull. These will scrub the dead skin cells from your skin and leave your newer, brighter skin, making you look refreshed!
I will scrub 2-3 times a week using Neutrogena Visibly Clear Daily Facial Scrub.

3. The last thing I do is moisturise. I have tried many moisturisers in the past, but my favourite is Aqueous Cream. It is very inexpensive (around £3 for a large tub, pictured above) and doesn't contain any harsh chemicals or colourants. It is very soft and does the job whilst keeping my skin free from preservatives.

Bed Time!

I like to remove my makeup when I have come home and know I won't be leaving the house again that day. Instead of leaving my makeup on all day until it's time for bed, I remove my makeup earlier. (when I remember!) It has been said that your skin/body renews itself from 10pm-2am, so I try to remove my makeup before 10pm if I am at home.
1. I start by removing my eye makeup using Bourjois Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover using damp cotton pads.

*Tip! Never use the ame cotton pad on both eyes, this could cause germs from one eye to contaminate the other. This could also cause eye infections which are not fun! Always use 2 or more clean cotton pads on your eyes to keep them pretty!

2. I then repeat my morning routine by cleansing my face twice using No7 Gentle Foaming Cleanser, the first cleanse removing my makeup, the second cleanse removing dirt from my skin more thouroughly. (Rinse face with warm water between cleanses.)

3. I will then use a damp cotton pad with toner to sweep over my face to make sure all over my makeup has been removed and my skin is thoroughly clean!

4. I will then apply my moisturiser (aqueous cream) all over my face and neck. I will sometimes use a stronger moisturiser if my skin is feeling dry, like Time Delay Age Prevention.

TA-DA!

* Once a week, I will apply a face mask to remove impurities, dirt and prevent blackheads. My favourite is Soap & Glory "Scrub your nose in it" clay mask. You can use it as a scrub by applying to damp skin, rubbing in and rinsing with warm water, or you can apply to skin like a mask, leave for 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water avoiding the eye and lip area.
